In 2022, I was commissioned by Royal & Derngate, Northampton to adapt Barry Unsworth’s Man Booker Prize shortlisted novel, Morality Play – a medieval murder-mystery that follows a band of travelling players as they seek to devise a new type of play, one which tells the true story of a murdered boy in a non-named town north of York. However, as the actors rehearse, they discover that the truth about the boy’s death has yet to be revealed…

Performed by a modern band of players, this theatrical thriller combines traditional medieval theatre with 21st century sensibilities to explore truth, sin, class inequality, and the corrupted nature of justice.
