Burger Chef combines the genres of true crime, podcasting, coming-of-age and UFO fiction in an extra-terrestrial exploration of friendship and growing up in rural Northamptonshire. The story follows Madhia, a podcast journalist who returns home to investigate Stacey, her friend who has been missing since they were teenagers. Madhia’s investigation leads her to Danielle, another friend from the past, who seems to know more about Stacey than she is letting on…
Burger Chef has had it’s script developed through a creative residency with Edge Hill University (supported by director Grace Duggan) along with critical feedback from the Royal Court in London.
